The Kinder-DIPS-OA is a
structured clinical interview for diagnosing mental disorders. It has
alternate forms for the child and parent, and is applicable for parents of
youths aged 6 to 18 years, and for youth aged 8 to 18 years. Using the
Kinder-DIPS-OA it is possible to assess the children’s lifetime diagnoses,
current and past, according to DSM-5 and ICD-10. The Kinder-DIPS-OA covers
the mental disorders most commonly seen amongst children and adolescents in
clinical settings:
• Attention-Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder
• Disruptive, Impulse-Control and Conduct Disorder
• Tic Disorders
• Anxiety Disorders
• Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder
• Trauma and Stressor-Related Disorder
• Elimination Disorders
• Depressive Disorders
• Sleep-Wake Disorders
• Eating Disorders
• Communication Disorders
• Screenings for specific learning disorders, physical illness, substance
abuse, suicidality and psychosis.
In addition, general demographic information and additional clinically
relevant information are collected.
For the complete listing of disorders covered in the Kinder-DIPS-OA please see
>>List<<
Administration of the Mini-DIPS-OA requires a sufficient level of knowledge of DSM-5 and/or ICD-10 classification and diagnostic criteria, and and its application needs clinical experience and systematic training in its implementation. Training in the implementation of the DIPS-OA is also desirable. |

Tina In-Albon and Laura Kraus developed an additional section to the Kinder-DIPS at the university of Koblenz-Landau. These questions capture non-suicidal self-injury in children and adolescents (DSM 5, section 3: conditions for further study). These questions are only available in the youths' version.
